Jeep is currently owned by Stellantis, a multinational automotive corporation formed in 2021 from the merger of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) and the French PSA Group.
Brief History:
The history of Jeep dates back to 1941, when Willys-Overland was awarded a US Army contract to produce a light reconnaissance vehicle for World War II. The rugged and versatile “jeep” became an icon. After the war, Willys trademarked the name and began producing civilian models, establishing Jeep as a leader in off-road vehicles. Over the decades, Jeep went through several owners, including Kaiser Jeep, American Motors Corporation (AMC), and Chrysler Corporation, before becoming part of FCA and ultimately Stellantis.
