OPINION: FERRARI LUCE: A Visionary Step Forward or a Farse?
This Must Be One Of The Most Controversial Car Previews Ever
3 Main Stream Car Reviewers “Dumbfounded” by Ferrari’s EV
Having watched hundreds of car reviews over the years, the FERRARI LUCE seems to to have stumped these professional influencers.
Their comments let me thinking, is this new Ferrari for real? It seems that the professionals are stuck between thinking this is a Ferrari Joke or am I missing the point and this is a visionary step forward, signaling a brand new set of Ferrari EV buyers.
Watch the 1st YouTube videos about the Ferrari Luce, from Marques Brownlee (generally Techy Focused), Mat Watson (Main Stream Reviews) or Tim Burton (Passionate Luxury Petrol Head)
With a starting Price: around 450,000 Euros, is it just an EU compliance model?

First, Marques Brownlee expresses excitement over the “world exclusive,” calling the project “crazy”.
He praises the Jony Ive (LoveFrom) collaboration for creating a “retro-future” interior with high-quality metal and glass tactile control.
While he acknowledges it looks “nothing like any previous Ferraris,” he finds the 1,050 hp quad-motor setup “surprisingly capable” on the track.
Mat Watson (carwow) is far more critical, labeling the design “dreadful” and comparing it to a “reskinned Jaguar I-Pace” or a “cyberpunk multiplier.
He highlights the immediate 7% drop in Ferrari’s stock price following the reveal, suggesting the market shares his distaste.
Although he admires the interior’s physical buttons and the car’s 193 mph top speed, he mocks the electric “whirs and hums,”
Likening them to an “air conditioning unit on steroids”
Tim Burton describes himself as “frozen in shock” and “completely absolutely lost,” muttering “what have they done?” repeatedly upon seeing the car.
He argues the Luce is a “complete miss” as a Ferrari, asserting it feels like a tech product for “Silicon Valley” rather than a soulful machine for “Motor Valley”.
Burton also criticizes the “disrespectful” and highly restrictive launch event, which he felt used “embargo fear” to stifle critical thinking and force “PR scripted bullet point.
He concludes the car is intended for a “new tech generation” rather than traditional collector
