AUDI Q9 ELECTRIC: The Q6’s Formidable Big Brother

The Audi Q9 e-tron is a flagship 7-seater featuring 800-volt ultra-fast charging, a 600km+ range, and a sustainable yet ultra-premium “Digital Stage” cabin. Its standout feature is the PPE platform, which ensures it stays technologically relevant for years.

1. Body Style & Size
The Q9 e-tron is a “Full-Size” luxury SUV. It measures approximately 5.2 meters in length and 2 meters in width. This puts it firmly in the largest passenger vehicle segment, designed specifically to offer three rows of genuine adult-sized seating.
2. Platform & Performance
Built on the 800V PPE (Premium Platform Electric) architecture, it uses a 100kWh+ Nickel-Manganese-Cobalt (NMC) battery. It targets a range of 600km+ (WLTP) with high efficiency due to advanced silicon carbide inverters. Expect a 0–100km/h time of roughly 4.5 seconds in dual-motor guise.
3. Technical Capabilities
The 800V system allows charging from 10% to 80% in just 21 minutes. It features Audi’s “E3” electronic architecture, supporting high-speed Level 2+ driver assistance, automated lane changes, and an Augmented Reality (AR) Head-Up Display.
4. Interior & Storage
The “Digital Stage” interior features a curved OLED panoramic display. Storage is vast: 650 liters of rear space (seats up), plus a convenient frunk (front trunk) for charging cables—a major win over the combustion Q9.
5. App Functionality
The myAudi app is central to the experience, offering Plug & Charge management, remote climate pre-conditioning, and a “Proximity” feature that allows the car to pull out of tight garages via smartphone.
6. Pros & Cons
  • Pros: Ultra-fast charging speeds; vast three-row cabin; superb towing capacity.
  • Cons: Enormous footprint makes city driving difficult; high price point; heavy curb weight.

The Q9 e-tron is ideal for large, affluent families who require a high-capacity, long-range cruiser without compromising on luxury or performance.

It competes directly with the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV and the BMW iX7.

While entering production now, expect broad availability across Europe and North America by late 2026.
